The lyrics are a God-given inspiration from the verses Philippians 1:21 and Psalms 73:26 respectively for the two verses. The bridge was written because I wanted to remember that to follow Christ we have to deny ourselves. I always wanted to depict carrying the cross as living the life of a Christian and this song encompasses it in a way that I want to tell the story and be moved to persevere on for Christ. It reminds me of the pain that Jesus went through on the cross and also soothes the pain that one may be feeling because of following Him. It encourages me to keep going because I know that it is Him who gives me strength and He is the reason I want to carry on.
